More than 40% of the credit unions that were affected by the outage are now back up on the core system, and wide-scale restoration was underway overnight. These full technical teams will continue to work throughout the day to restore the remaining credit unions.
We do not yet have a specific restoration time for Money FCU, but we are hopeful that we will see more progress soon.
We want to continue to clear up some understandable concerns. This outage is not the result of a hacking attempt or unauthorized access to our systems or member information. The issue was caused by a hardware failure at the data center that supports our banking system.
Our staff has been working diligently to listen and answer your questions and concerns. We appreciate the patience and understanding that our membership has shown us while work continues toward a full restoration of our services.

What Happened?
Our core banking provider experienced a significant infrastructure failure at the data center that hosts their systems. The issue was caused by equipment damage following a cooling system failure at the facility.
While this has affected the availability of certain services, the recovery effort is focused on preserving the integrity of member account information. In other words, the priority is making sure your account information is correct when systems are restored.
Where Things Stand Today
Restoration will occur in phases, with systems being carefully brought back online and validated before service is restored. While progress is being made, our core banking provider has advised that recovery efforts will continue and that they do not yet have a confirmed timeframe for our full restoration.

Questions You May Have
Is my money safe?
Yes.
There is no indication that member funds have been lost or compromised. The recovery efforts underway are specifically designed to protect the accuracy of account information and transactions.
Is my personal information secure?
Yes.
Our core banking system provider has confirmed there has been no data breach and no unauthorized access to member information. The disruption was caused by a data center infrastructure failure and not by unauthorized access to systems or member data.
What about my direct deposit?
Although system access has been affected, there is currently no indication that incoming deposits have been lost. The recovery process is focused on ensuring all transactions and account records are restored accurately.
Why is restoration taking so long?
Our core banking system provider is taking a careful approach to ensure account information is accurate before each system is returned to service. While we all want services restored as quickly as possible, protecting the integrity of member accounts is the top priority.
What services are affected by this outage?
Access to accounts via online banking and our mobile app is not available during this outage. Credit Union staff do not have access to account information during this outage.
How will this affect ACH Originations?
If you have a transfer or payment set up directly with Money FCU, these transactions will process once our systems are restored.
For members using BillPay:
Any transactions that were scheduled prior to the outage (9/15/26) will process.
For members with automatic payments coming out of the Credit Union:
If you have set up an automatic payment with another institution to come out of your Money FCU account, the payment will post to that other institution’s account. For example, you have a store credit card, and you went to their online account and set up a payment to be made from your credit union account, you will see the payment post to that store credit card account. Once our systems are restored, that payment will debit your Money FCU account.
